8:00 am start on Appleby Line, ran well consistently to finish 48 km by 3:09 this aft. The luck continues with kinesio tape and my quad muscle. The trail is still beautiful. The Grindstone Creek in Waterdown was quite something, I didn't know it was there!
Resisted the temptation to do more, after conferring with my ultra cool handler, Di. This trek is about enjoying the journey - not trying to do it as fast as I can.
Tomorrow; Waterdown, through Dundas/Ancaster, to west Hamilton (Dewitt Rd.)
Henri
Love the the daily updates Henri, Will be comming towards you, with my trusty dog cleo, from Dundas. It will be the only way to cheer you on as you are moving too fast for these old legs to keep up with you. spence
ReplyDeleteGreat to hear that you leg isn't bothering you too much anymore!! And even better that you are having a great time!!
ReplyDeleteDrop by our place tomorrow on the way by if you need anything Henri and Diane. Will likely be working in home office most of the day. Also, let us know if we can help in any way while you are in the Hammer region the next couple of days! Oh,and slight trail reroute across from us at the Sherman Falls. Bridge is being rebuilt so the BT just goes along the road for about 10 metres instead of the scenic pass by the falls. Joany & Mark
ReplyDeleteThanks Joany & Mark - will share the reroute with Henri. Do you have cappuccino?
ReplyDeleteHoping to be there at the "finish line" on Thursday, Henri. But when do you think you will likely arrive at Queenston? Jerry
ReplyDeleteDiane here...as long as I have reception, I'll post the est. arrival time at Queenston earlier on Friday. We've just been working on the mapping & one qualification Henri has is that he runs at least a marathon every day on the trails. This means that we have to shorten some of the remaining days. This also means that Henri has only a 6-7 hour day on Thursday. He is currently contemplating our start time that day...more later. p.s. He requests chocolate & ice cream at the finish.
ReplyDelete...oops, Thursday, he finishes Thursday.
ReplyDeleteOh darn it, no.....we are not a quality coffee making home. I can make a trip to our very reputable establishment in Dundas called Domestique on Miller Lane (just off King) - wicked coffee! Call if we can help as you pass by! Joany
ReplyDeleteWay to go Henri!! You're flying!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear the kinesio tape helps with the quad issue.
You're in the home stretch! Enjoy what's left of your journey.
Hey Henri and lady Di! 2 more days. It must be bittersweet to be so close to the end of such an adventure. I have a great idea! When you finish, just turn around and Diane can run the BT back to Tobermory! It was great fun to see you two. My only regret is not getting out and running with Henri for a few K. Wishing you much joy on your vistory laps!
ReplyDeleteJoany - I did call you as I couldn't find Filmore (but there was no answer on your cell). I managed to find it within minutes of Henri exiting Filmore.
ReplyDeletePierreski - the return trip has already been suggested.
